I kinda hate that I have this page up, but, this is a free service, and like all things that are free, somebody has to pay for them.

The service is hosted in AWS on ECS/Fargate and although the cost isn’t very high at all (it runs on the smallest size fargate instance) it still does cost money to run.

When the dev environment isn’t running it costs around $15AUD/month to run, NOT INCLUDING any SMS message costs. We have capped the SMS costs to a maximum of $100/mo, however if there’s a sponsor out there who would be willing to help out with the monthly cost it would be greatly appreciated.

I expect as traffic increases and the system becomes more popular, I may have to implement threading to handle the messages (as opposed to the inline approach in use at the moment) and if that’s the case then it will need more resources. Each time I bump up the resources the running cost roughly doubles.
