Mode Filtering support is now available in APSPOT for the SPOTS command.
Simply add your desired mode onto the end of the command and the system will filter out only spots that match your requested mode.
“SPOTS POTA FT8” – Will by return 3 FT8 spots over APRS.
Another new feature in this release is the ability to request more, or less spots, from 1 to 5 spots. You cannot request more than 5 spots over APRS (The system will simply just return a maximum of 5).
“SPOTS POTA 5” – will give you the latest 5 spots.
The two new features can also be combined, as long as the mode is quoted first:
“SPOTS POTA FT8 5” will give you 5 FT8 SPOTS.
Modes supported are:
POTA – FT8, CW, SSB, DATA
WWFF, SOTA, SiOTA – CW, SSB, AM, FM, DATA, PSK, RTTY
With this release we’ve also changed the back-end to allow us to add more external sources besides APRS. We currently have Winlink/Email and SMS support in the works, as well as goals to eventually add native InReach support. If you have a source you’d like to see added, please let me know.
